Just The Way It Is

Note: I am creating a new story! Time to tell!

My heart was racing as I still had to answer Mr. Gluff. I didn't know the answer. I just didn't. He said, Miya, come on! I answered, 1837 remainder 7? He was like, no Miya. First of all, we use decimals. Not remainders. And the answer is 3026.47. Naudi? What is the square root of 121? 11, she answered. I was just hurt. I was the "geek" here, not her. People know me as "Miya, the geek". I just feel so bad when I get something wrong. I just do.

After 5th period, Naudi and her friends, May, and Jodie came up to me. Naudi said, Nerd alert! It hurt my feelings bad. 8th graders can't handle all this feeling. They just can't. Tears rolled down my eyes as I ran to the bathroom. I don't have any friends, so I just feel so lonely, and I don't have anyone to make me feel better. I had to wash up for science, so I finally got out of the bathroom, and the boy of my dreams, Miguel, walked by. He smiled at me, then I just tripped and fell right on my face. I had just embarrassed myself in front of Miguel. I started crying again, but where did I have to go? So I walked to class, sticky face and still bawling. What a life I'm having.
