Re: Challenge #3
This is my essay on what the Olympics represent and mean in my life, and also about my opinion on the Olympics. Enjoy reading!
My Opinion of the Olympics is mixed. I feel like an unnecessary amount of money is spent on them, but i also think that they are an incredible idea because they inspire young people from all walks of life to get active and do sports they love. I think that the amount of money is too much, as cuts to essential services are being made every day, but the meaning behind the Olympics is pure and incredible. Many young people don't think they can do sports but seeing the Olympics inspires them to pursue their dream.
To me, the Olympics is almost a sort of goal. I used to think i was rubbish at sports, and i hated the whole idea of it. The first Olympian i saw was Jessica Ennis-Hill, and i was inspired by the effort and dedication she put in, and the results she got out of it. I didn't like the idea of sports until then... that's what inspired me to get into sports. The Olympics also holds significance in my life as my family and i see it as a good time to bond over watching our country compete.
To conclude, I think that the Olympics are a worthwhile and wholly amazing idea, which inspires young people and teaches them that no matter who they are and what background they come for that they can achieve whatever they want
--- That is my entry. Enjoy! ~Shazza~ ---
