Trump ban on transgenders in the military
Article here: https://www.aol.com/article/news/2017/07/26/discrimination-plain-simple-senators-react-trump-ban-transgender-military/23049496/
I'm just so disgusted. I fucking hate him so much. Can he just go already? I want to hug all of the transgender people. They deserve more. They are even afraid of coming out in their own country. That shouldn't even happen. Thank you so much. America is messing up once again. Thank you fucking much. I hate you.

Re: Trump ban on transgenders in the military
this is an absolute [badword] outrage. i cannot [badword] believe that he would do this. a person is a person and it makes me cry to think that people are so close minded and don't care about others. what's different between someone binary, someone non binary like myself, and someone transgender?
[BADWORD] NOTHING, OKAY?
These people still serve the USA and protect our rights and he DOESNT HAVE THE DECENCY TO PROTECT THEIRS?
i'm sorry but this is atrocious.

Re: Trump ban on transgenders in the military
Even as someone who is Republican and did vote for Donald Trump, I am really angered by this. :/ Do I support gay marriage or transitioning? Myself, no. I don't think it's natural or right. However, with that being said, by no means do I feel they should have any less rights than anyone who is straight or accepts their gender as male or female. Regardless of what someone wants to be called pronoun wise, or what they want to look like or who they want to date, they are still human.
What happened today is absolutely ridiculous. It is no hidden secret that most trans/gay people are normally democratic and therefore probably do not support Donald Trump. But they love their country enough to continue to protect and serve, and they are being turned away??? Because they transitioned?? Because they are a male and are in a relationship with a male?? That is their own personal business and while I may not support it in my own lifestyle, who am I to judge somebody else's. That is their decision, not mine, and like it or not, we live in such a great country that allows us to have freedom and democracy to choose these things for ourselves. Let's not go toward a direction that reduces that, and unfortunately what happened today is a step in the wrong direction.
The issue I also want to address below has no correlation to this incident but is just something I want to say about the presidency in general:
Once again, I'm not talking about today because I'm strongly opposed to it, but overall, I'm really annoyed with people in society wishing that Trump fails. (I'd like to point out failing is different from creating your own harm, which is what he's doing) Whether we like it or not, Trump IS our president. And I love America and its citizens too much to wish any ill feelings on our president, because if he fails, America fails. We as Americans are so much stronger and important than the one man who leads this country. And therefore, I believe it is more important to put our differences aside and support him as our commander-in-chief (NOT his beliefs or plans, unless you actually do of course, but rather respect the role he has in our government) because don't we all support America? It might suck if he is the person to bring us greatness given that so many people dislike him, but wouldn't we all rather have success? And if he can give us the slightest bit of that, isn't that all that matters? Sure as a person we may not like him, but as a president we must hope he does right by the American people. Now, whether or not he actually does that is a completely different story. But whether it was Hillary, Trump, or Bernie, and if I supported or didn't support all of them, I would hope that they would bring peace and prosperity to our great country, no matter my own personal feelings toward them.
Also, it's important to note that what is great for one person isn't necessarily great for another. Some people get so angered as to "why aren't you a republican???" or "why aren't you a democrat???" "I hate republicans they all want ____!" (slogans like that). But in reality, a poor person might support the views of a certain candidate or party because that is who provides them with health care or food stamps, whereas a republican might hate that very party or candidate because that means they have to pay more tax dollars to keep afloat citizens who don't pull their weight in society as opposed to that rich person who has had to work hard for their money. Everyone sees things differently and that's what is so great with our society. So don't say that someone is ignorant or stupid for supporting or not supporting a certain thing because they have different effects from that event than you might.
By the way that had nothing to do with what anyone said on this post LOL, I just have been feeling these emotions for quite some time & thought I should post about it (: Because hey, even if it opens one person's eyes, that's all that matters!
All in all, we all need to respect each other's beliefs and stop all this discrimination. And stereotypes for that matter. Just because someone voted for a certain person doesn't make them good or bad, it was simply their choice and they were and are entitled to that. Just like how gay and trans people are just as human as us, and deserve the same rights we do. If they choose to go into the military despite the discrimination they may face, that is a braver individual than any other person who hasn't gone through what they did who enlists, and they DEFINITELY should not be turned away, but rather praised.

Re: Trump ban on transgenders in the military
PLEASE NOTE: transgender = someone who does not identify 100% with the gender they were assigned to at birth, meaning even someone who identifies partly as such is transgender. genderfluid, nonbinary, etc. the transgender / transsexual mixup makes me a tad bitter and i wish it'd stop lmao. that being said, it shows me that donald trump is even more of an idiot than i figured originally because literally ANYONE who feels a tad disconnected from their birth gender is trans so ... good luck with stopping us all from joining?? smh. i like how this bigoted cheeto was trying to use the lgbtq community for votes, calling himself our friend, and then he does this. zero fucking respect to the trans men and women who have dedicated their lives to this godforsaken country, huh? i hope he'll step down before we have his criminal ass impeached.

Re: Trump ban on transgenders in the military
Preach hope! I remember my mom saying once something along the lines of "lgbt is not his priority" and now I'm like wake up and smell the roses. I may not agree with a lot of the views of Trump and most Republicans as most Republicans are opposed to lgbt. Although you know what it seems to be a priority to him to make everyone scared for their lives and not safe being themselves. Can we just rewind back time when Obama was still president because at least then I wasn't scared for others and hearing sexist comments towards women.

Re: Trump ban on transgenders in the military
this literally doesn't surprise me? he lied to become president. last year he was all supportive of the lgbtq+ community but suddenly he isn't? it shows he has absolutely no respect for people who aren't straight white men and i refuse to respect or support someone who uses their power in such a disgusting way.

!!!!!
say it again for the people in the back
people shouldn't be turned away & shamed for who they are.
if you like girls, that's great. if you like boys, wonderful. if you like both, that's fab. if you're a boy who connects with both male and female sides, i love it. if you're a girl who connects with both sides, you go girl. if you dislike the gender you received at birth and you want to change, ill have your back all the way. if you don't have a label for yourself, that's okay. if you don't feel sexual attraction, it's fine. whoever you are, whatever you identify as, whoever you're attracted or not attracted to - you're human. and you're beautiful. nobody is "just confused", "going through a phase", "unnatural" or anything else just because they're not white, straight and cis.

Re: Trump ban on transgenders in the military
reading all of these, i agree 100% with this.
There's a song quote, and this quote goes "without the truth of the eyes, the Happyfolk were blind" and it sums it up for me. Donald Trump does not know the truth about the transgender community, or any other community which is not heterosexual, so he refuses to see the viewpoint of such communities and such attitudes are unfair and unjust. Let me throw another song quote at you, one i use myself to show my support for everyone
"tonight, we are young. So let's set the world on fire"
Donald Trump is self conceided, and transgender troops, or anyone else for that matter, should not take his bad viewpoints on board. You're here, you're queer, and you're the most amazing being in your life. No matter who you are

Re: Trump ban on transgenders in the military
Are we going back in time? British used to have this country and we got freedom from them. It seems like Trump is like the British and we are just here complaining about every fucking thing he does. I always think about the song American Idiot by Green Day. Last year Billie Joe Armstrong the lead singer added Trump into the song and it was golden.

reading this, honestly, i HAVE to agree that Trump is like the horrible, fucking pompous idiots currently running Britain. Quite honestly, our current 'democracies' are a huge regression from what we had.Hazza wrote:Are we going back in time? British used to have this country and we got freedom from them. I don't even know what I am. I'm not labeling myself. I'm in a relationship with a girl.
I'm just afraid of what would happen to transgender people already in the military. Kick them out? Tell them they can't be here anymore because they are trans? That would go so well for those people. Who knows they could be doing so much for our country and even more than some white men.
