It has been reported yesterday on July 4th, 2017 that North Korea had launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) that is capable of reaching as far as the United States, including Alaska.

According to the North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency, the Hwasong-14, is capable of reaching the "heart of the United States" with "large heavy nuclear warheads." This leaves a threat to the United States and the world due to its said possibilities.

On Wednesday morning, July 5th, 2017, the North Korean president, Kim Jong-un, taunted the United States and stated that it was "a Fourth of July “gift” to the Trump administration."

The New York Times wrote:The Korean Central News Agency said the country’s citizens were happy with the “great timing” of their leader’s decision to “hit the arrogant Americans in the nose” by conducting the first ICBM test to coincide with Independence Day.

On that same morning, the U.S. and South Korea conducted a military exercise in response to North Korea's actions. South Korea intended this as a strong warning in opposition to North Korean provocation.

The United Nations secretary general, António Guterres, stated that "this action is yet another brazen violation of Security Council resolutions and constitutes a dangerous escalation of the situation" and warned North Korea to end "further provocative actions and comply fully with its international obligations."

The missile was said to be launched quite earlier and much more successful than expected and is considered "years ahead of schedule", according to ABC News headlines.

There is increased pressure surrounding this issue and the U.S. is taking action upon this possible threat. Trump is planned to meet with country leaders such as Poland and Croatia to discuss upon the issue.

There are more implications upon this topic, but this is just a gist of what is currently happening right now in the political world with North Korea.

If we let fear control our actions, it will only create disharmony and arouse anger and conflict among ourselves. What we need is love and the strength and harmony that comes from it. North Korea spends so much money on their military stuff it's insane. I had a feeling that since they spend so much time building this type of missiles and everything else that of course they would think about launching it towards the USA. Who knows when that'll be though. They have to test it out first. It is scary to think about a missile can even go that far.

Yes yes it is, and the fact that North Korea plans to do so is only harmful to the world. I really hope that nuclear weapons would come to a halt and that the world would stop fighting over land and pride. It really comes down to what the purpose of all this can really benefit, which is hardly anything.
