[solved]Shadow on picture? Empty [solved]Shadow on picture?

Post by Guest Fri Feb 06, 2015 9:24 pm

Hello,

I am just wondering if there was an online website or program I can use to drop a shadow on a picture. Like the shadow of the picture inside the whole picture, placing a shadow on the picture itself instead of the background too. Like the unicorn itself in this pic:
[solved]Shadow on picture? Uni_pi14 Just pretend the background is a different color because it matches the white background of this text box.

Something that is safe and free.

Thank you very much!!

Free online image editor:
1. Put a background
2. Select overlay and put in your image then just click shadow on the check box

Amy: Thanks for the advice, it did make a shadow around the outline of the pic., but not the actual picture itself. Any idea?

Eleanor: Thank you. <3

1.) You can go to the website http://pixlr.com/editor and open up your image.

2.) if you decide to use it, then click on the magic wand tool (third tool down on the left side of the tool box).

3.) click on the white background around the horse.

4.) on the right side of the editor, there is a "Layers" box. there should be a lock image next to the image you're editing. double click that lock until its a box with a check mark in it.

5.) now press delete or backspace on your keyboard OR go to "Edit" on the top of the editor and press "Clear".

6.) next press the "☐" next to the "x" above the image you're editing. that will expand your work space.

7.) since you still have the dotted lines (or marching ants as some refer to it as) around the horse, you have to click on the grey work space around the image so it will go away. make sure you're still on the magic wand when you're doing so.

8.) now you can click on the first tool on the right side of the toolbar. its optional, but it keeps the program from being as laggy when you add the drop shadow.

9.) next go to "Layer" on the top of the editor. then click "Layer styles"

10.) a pop-up box will appear. click drop shadow, and change the settings to your liking. when you finish click "OK"

11.) go to "File" on the top of the editor and press save. I would save the format as a .PNG file, but that's your choice. Press "OK" and save the image where you want to in your computer and lastly, upload it to an image hosting website. the rest would be up to you.

lol i hope this helps. c:

Amy: Thank you for your suggestion.
Camryn: Thank you so, so much for taking time to explain all of this to me. It really means a lot to me when sharing your experience with others, but I have one teeny question. I am not sure where the "setting" button is when you drop the shadow arranging where the shadow position.

Thank you!
