TASK 2: Team B

If posting isn't your thing, hopefully this task is better for you. In this task, it doesn't include any posting, however, please read on for the task!

Your task:
1) Write a Halloween poem

OR

2) Write a Halloween song

To complete this task you need to write a poem or a song. You get to choose, but if you want to do both go ahead! If you do both, you will get extra points though (:

You will also get extra points if you make the poem rhyme, but like I said before, it's a choose, so it's optional.

The total amount of points you will receive for this task is 3 points. 3 points if you do both a song and poem and make the poem rhyme. You will only get 1 point if you do one of those things. If you pick a poem and make it rhyme then it will be 2 points.

Information about the task:
-The poem should be at least three lines (so it can be a haiku) but don't make it longer than 15 lines
-If you make it rhyme [remember optional!] not every line needs to rhyme, you could also try out sonnets!
-It has to include Halloween related things/objects such as pumpkins, vampires, ghosts, etc
-The song should be in a tune of a real song or you can make up your own tune
-You are only posting one final copy, but everyone can write one
-You should work together to write the poem or song

You have until October 15th to complete this task.

Lions and tigers and witches, oh my!
Here, have some pumpkin pie.
As the jolly ghost comes by, 
remember.
Halloween's coming to town; and everyone is in it.

Well I did an English/Shakespearean sonnet so the 1st + 3rd lines rhyme and the 2nd + 4th lines rhyme. In the last stanza, both lines rhyme.

A Peculiar Halloween

Halloween's a dark and cold night,
Kids go trick-o-treating for candy,
I see a witch, a ghost, and a knight,
You'd better keep the eggs dandy.

Knocking sounds come from the door,
Someone screams my name,
Is it coming from the floor?
No, it's a horse with a mane.

There's a girl dressed as cabbage,
and a boy dressed as a carrot,
There's a teenager dressed as a traveler with baggage,
I hope that pirate doesn't have a parrot.

It was the best Halloween night ever,
but I don't think I'll remember this forever.

halloween, halloween oh what fun 
candy and candy for all to eat
dressing up and trick or treating
candies for you, candies for me 
pumpkins on the doorstep
candles on the patio
decorations around the house 
and the final touch, a tiny mouse 
halloween, halloween oh what fun

When children play, and trick and treat,
And pumpkins gracing every street,
Doorbells sound, and candy received;
Stories shared, but never believed
Laughter and chatter fill the air
Spiders and mummies everywhere

But no one knows, and no one sees
The truth behind All-Hallow's Eve.
They forget the reason for the fright
And costumes worn this darkest night.
The carving of gourds, a treat or trick,
Darting to houses, must be quick!
Ask why, and anyone will say:
"Oh, that? Why, it's all a fun game!"

But I know why the children play,
why "Trick or Treat!" is what they say,
Why masks are worn, and pumpkins disguised, 
Tricks meant to leave people surprised.

For this night is also called the Dead's Day,
The ghosts of our past have come out to play.



(Erg ok I wrote this in like 20 minutes and I realize I used -ay like three times but who cares)

I think we should do Read's poem!  Since i'm the only one with a song, I suppose we should do my song..?     That's my vote

I just want to clarify that you can only receive one point for this round overall...{if you win}. I know Sammy's post says something else but the highest number of points you can achieve for each round is 1.. {despite this being such a large task}.

Yes, exactly that! xD I don't know how Sammy was planning to score it but I think 1 point per round makes it easier and fairer to count. :3 {hopefully that isn't confusing}.

I'm not sure if this was clear or not but since no one else has voted for the poem or song, I think we should use Read's poem.  We can also use my song since no one else wrote a song.  If we are only suppose to pick one of the options, then Read's poem is what I vote for.

I didn't realize that I'm only able to give the winning team one point so I'll be picking the best poem/story, and that team would get a point. I'll decide on the winner shortly. You can make sure that everything is complete and looks okay until then.

Okey doke, just make sure to count the shorter version of mine cause I wrote the first one without remembering it was supposed to be shorter than 15 lines oops
