[[ welcome to Turkish class ]]
with lessons by Lexi

merhaba! (that means hello)
^ congrats! you just learned your first Turkish word!

I am doing things a bit differently
than the other language tutors, in the sense
that I will be learning this language with all of my students!

For as long as I can remember,
I've always wanted to connect with my Turkish
roots by learning the language, but I was never able to
access any resources to assist me in my goal. These days, with
the help of mobile & computer applications, anyone is able to learn a
new language (or advance their knowledge in a familiar language) by simply
downloading an app! My personal favorites include Duolingo and Memrise, but here,
we will be working exclusively with Duolingo. Please make sure to download that app, because
it will be where lessons are taught! We will keep a tally of everyone's scores and progression on a post
within this subsection.

As your instructor,
I have taken a few lessons
already in Turkish on Duolingo, so I will be
a bit ahead of you all at the beginning, so that I can
help you out along the way. However, I have a very very basic
knowledge of Turkish. My main objective was to choose a language where we
would all be starting at the same level and grow
together. (:
