GERMAN WITH SHAZZA: Lesson 1- An introduction to pronouns
The basis to any German sentence, as in any language, are the pronouns. A lot of sentences in German either start with or contain a pronoun, and all German exam questions require knowledge of the basic pronouns; as i learned the hard way. So here they are:
PRONOUS
ICH - I
DU - YOU (informal)
ER/SIE/ES - HE/SHE/IT
WIR - WE
IHR - YOU ALL
SIE- YOU (formal)
SIE - THEY
Formal and informal pronouns are used in different situations. For example, if asking your friend "have you got a book? (Hast DU ein Buch?) DU will be used as he situation is informal. However, asking your teacher the same question (Haben SIE ein Buch?) would require SIE as your teacher is your elder and of a higher power status
